Congratulations to our March Members of the Month, the mother-son combo of Steph and Nate Andrews.  Steph and "Big Dawg" have been members at Reebok CrossFit Medfield from the beginning and have each made amazing gains in their fitness level.  Steph always comes to the box with a determined look on her face and a no-quit attitude!  Nate is a very hard worker and always encourages his fellow members during the workout.  He recently started spring track at school and still finds time during the week to get to the box to workout!  That is dedication!!!  This dynamic duo can most definitely stake the claim as the fittest mother-son combo in Norfolk! Thank you Steph and Nate for your dedication and for inspiring all of us to get better, each and every day....

Our February members of the month, Eileen and Erin, have a few things in common.  They are both women.  They both know how to swing a kettlebell as you can see from the picture above.  They both come to the gym with a great attitude and they ALWAYS give 110% effort. Oh, and I forgot, they are both pregnant AND still CrossFitting regularly.  I guess that kills any excuse any of us have for not coming. Well it was impossible to choose just one member of the month after the epic battle between Amy and Chip in January's rowing challenge.  Amy and Chip each rowed an amazing 129,005 meters during the month.  That is equivalent to 80.2 miles! Amy has been the heart & soul of Reebok CrossFit Medfield from the day we opened.  Her competitive spirit, commitment to excellence and warm embrace for everyone she sees truly embodies our amazing community! Chip has been a member of the gym for a few months and has made amazing gains in his fitness in a short time.  He has quickly become a staple in our community. We are pleased to announce that we will be offering a weekly Yoga class with Leila Hooshmand Class Schedule Saturdays @ 11:15 am - 12:30 pm About the Class Leila will be teaching a 75 minute Slow Flow Vinyassa Yoga class with emphasis on strengthening and proper form.  Connection to the breath and linking breath to movement will also be a key component.  Students will need to bring a yoga mat and a small blanket to place over their upper torso at the end of class. About Leila Leila is a Medfield resident who has been teaching Small Group Yoga classes for 8 years and is trained in the Yoga Works style that blends the power and strengthening of the Ashtanga style with the precise alignment of the Lyengar tradition in order to get the most out of each posture and prevent injury.  She is also a Stott trained Pilates instructor. This story doesn't start with Margie. In fact, her husband, Dan, was the beginning. I knew her husband, Dan Sunderland very well. Dan was sold on the benefits of CrossFit and has not only been participating in classes, but also frequenting local competitions. Dan was and still is an avid fitness fanatic. On several occasions, I asked about his family, and if they the shared the same love for fitness that he did. He had said that his son, Danny, attends classes at CrossFit Southie and that his wife, Margie, never believed that it was for her. One day Dan came into class just like it was any other day, except on this day he had a special request. He said that his wife, Margie, was going to come in to try CrossFit with a friend. He wanted me to walk Margie through the fundamentals of Crossfit and make sure she enjoyed her experience. I was pumped at the opportunity.
